One Day Adventure Trail Rides

We specialize in full day adventure trail rides for the best experience. We have found that it takes at least a full day for horse and rider to bond. All our rides are guided and you will find that our experienced guides will go out of their way to ensure that you have a pleasant experience. We can almost guarantee that you will not be sore the next day.

Our rides begin at 9:00 am in Sonoita, Arizona, a short scenic drive from Tucson. We transport our guests and horses out from Sonoita for all full day rides and generally do not use the same trail or route two days in a row.

Lunch, bottled water, and snacks are provided and included in the price. Expect to get off your horse and walk a short distance at least once prior to lunch, and once after the lunch stop. Along our ride routes you will see a variety of plants and trees including several varieties of oak, pine, alligator juniper, cottonwood, walnut, sycamore, willow, seasonal flowers, and grasses. Wildlife observed includes whitetail deer, mule deer, antelope, mountain lion, bobcat, coatimundi, coyote, fox, red tail hawk, owl, and eagles. Our rides range from 3,000 to 9,000 feet in elevation and vary in degree of difficulty. Trail routes in the National Forest will be on established trails or forest roads, while our other routes permit cross country riding.

Wine Tasting Ride

Three hour trail ride to the Sonoita Winery begins at either 9, 10, or 11 am. Ride through scenic grasslands and rolling hills. Taste a variety of different world class estate wines at Arizona's largest winery and enjoy lunch with a spectacular view of the Mustang Mountains. This ride includes one complimentary bottle of wine of your choosing from the tasting table, souvenier wine glass, and lunch. Horses and riders will be transported back by car.

St. Martin's New Release Festival November 10, 2007

Special package includes a two hour scenic trail ride to Sonoita Vineyards, festivities, wine tasting, complimentary wine glass, catered lunch, live music and dancing. Departs promptly at 9:30 am and is limited to ten guests. $150 per person.

Three Hour Scenic Trail Ride

For those who are not able to schedule a full day, we offer a scenic 3 hour guided trail ride from Sonoita. These easy rides provide a shorter experience and may be considered as preparation for one of our full day adventures. Rides depart at 9 am and 1 pm. Reservations are required. Bottled water is provided. Lush oak woodlands and grasslands. 5,000 ft elevation.

Horsemanship “101”

Learn to ride with a full day of condensed lessons on great horses. Three hours of instruction and arena riding followed by a three hour trail ride. Instruction is provided by example, lecture, and participation.

• Learn how to safely handle a horse from the ground, including how to hold and lead your horse.
• Learn how to safely mount, dismount and general horse handling precautions.
• Learn how to groom and care for your horse including picking up and cleaning the front feet.
• Learn how to maintain control of your horse at a walk, trot, and canter.

Ride out from our place on private ranch lands with scenic views of the surrounding countryside.
